Theme of the Day: Selfless Love Marches Victorious Over Self-Glorification

As we transition from the Time of Christ to the Time of the Church, our attention is fixed on the words of Jesus. Again we see that Easter changes everything. We look at Jesus pre-resurrection words through a post-resurrection lens. Jesus resurrection proves that when we look at life as he teaches us to do, we are seeing it as it really is. Perhaps this in nowhere truer than in what Jesu’ words teach us today: selfless love is a more excellent way than self-glorification.

Prayer of the Day: O God, you form the minds of your faithful people into a single will. Make us love what you command and desire what you promise, that among the many changes of this world, our hearts may ever yearn for the lasting joys of heaven; through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.

Gospel Acclamation: Alleluia. We know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. Alleluia.
